HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE
• The quartet, along with their families, were recognized prior to the start of the twinbill as part of Senior Day.

• After falling behind, 1-0, the Anchorwomen capitalized on three Owl errors in the bottom of the first to build a 5-1 lead.

• Sophomore shortstop Joey Meyer (South Milwaukee, Wis.), junior left fielder Melanie Earley (Lumberton, N.J.) and sophomore first baseman Jillian Guilfoyle (Derby, Conn.) each had RBI singles in the frame.

• Earley brought in Simmons with an RBI groundout in the second.

• Cunha did the rest, allowing one unearned run on six hits, to pick up her sixth win (6-6) of the season.

Simmons went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored.

GAME TWO
• Simmons got things moving in game two by singling, stretching a sacrifice bunt to third and scoring on a throwing error in the bottom of the first.

• Simmons tripled in a run and scored on an Earley RBI double in the third to put RIC on top, 3-0.

• The hosts broke the game open in the fourth as junior right fielder Sydney Duclos (North Providence, R.I.) singled in a run and later scored on a Crudale three-run blast as RIC ended the contest early due to the eight-run rule.

• Freshman pitcher Mia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.) was brilliant, allowing just one unearned run on five hits, to earn her 12th (12-1) win of the year.

• Simmons was dominant, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored, a double, one triple and an RBI. Guilfoyle went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI.
