Providence, R.I.—Sophomore James McShane (Riverside, R.I.) and freshman John Vaughan (East Providence, R.I.) each won with straight set shutouts as Rhode Island College raised its win streak to eight contests with a 7-0 shutout at Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC swept doubles action to build a 1-0 lead. McShane and Vaughan paired for a 6-0 shutout at third doubles.
 
• RIC took all six singles matches to secure the club's third shutout this season. McShane and Vaughan notched shutouts (6-0, 6-0) at third and fourth singles, respectively.
 
• Junior Liam Berube (Warwick, R.I.) drew into the lineup and won (6-1, 6-1) at No. 6 singles.
