Bench Leads Anchormen Past Suffolk, 6-1, for Seventh Straight Win

Providence, R.I.—Senior Kyle O'Connor (Foster, R.I.) was one of four reserves who came off the bench and earned wins as Rhode Island College defeated Suffolk, 6-1, for the club's seventh straight win at the RIC Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchormen used two forfeits on the day to accelerate the win process.
 
• Sophomores Ethan Clegg (Chepachet, R.I.) and James McShane (Riverside, R.I.) helped the hosts sweep doubles with a 6-1 win at the top flight.
 
• After a forfeit at sixth singles, junior Liam Berube (Warwick, R.I.) and freshman John Vaughan (East Providence, R.I.) each won in straight sets to clinch the win.
 
• Reserves O'Connor, Berube, senior Hajji Glover (Foxboro, Mass.) and freshman Noah Schwartz (North Smithfield, R.I.) each picked up singles victories on the day.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East play at Southern Maine on Saturday, April 18 (1 p.m.).
