Clermont, Fla.—Sophomore shortstop Joey Meyer (South Milwaukee, Wis.) went 2-for-4 as Rhode Island College suffered its first loss on its Florida Trip, falling, 8-2, vs. Penn State Brandywine at Hancock Field on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen put themselves behind the eight ball in the top of the first as PSU ripped off five runs on five hits.
 
• Senior center fielder Sophia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.) put the hosts on the board with an RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first.
 
• The visitors added one more in the second, while freshman pitcher Mia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.) continued her strong relief effort, allowing just one run in 4.1 innings of work.
 
• Freshman designated player Lily Bell (Coventry, R.I.) recorded an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth before PSU put two more across in the top of the seventh.
 
• Junior pitcher Ashleigh von der Linden (Stratham, N.H.) took the loss (1-1).
