Abigail Bunch (Cartersville, Ga.) became the first-ever Rhode Island College gymnast to win a regional title on bars as the Anchorwomen finished third at the 2026 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) East Regional Championship, held at The Murray Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen posted the second-highest team score in program history with a 192.200 point total.
• Bunch finished first on bars to earn All-Region honors on that event with a new program-record score of 9.775. Her first-place effort guaranteed her a spot on that event at the NCGA National Championship.
• Bunch's and sophomore
Elizabeth Hoyos' (Kernersville, N.C.) effort (9.650) on bars in the club's final event helped propel the Anchorwomen into third place.
• Sophomore
Aaliyah Krause (Milwaukee, Wis.) earned All-Region honors on floor and in the all-around. She tied for sixth on floor (9.775) and was third in the all-around (38.400).
• Junior
Payton Greene (Mannford, Okla.) earned All-Region honors on vault and in the all-around. She tied for fifth on vault (9.700) and was second in the all-around (38.525).

Molly Pompeii (Apalachin, N.Y.) earned All-Region honors on vault with a fourth place finish (9.725).
• Senior
Liz Shrewsbury (Oklahoma City, Okla.) earned All-Region honors on floor with a second place tie (9.800).

Kelsey Gates was named the NCGA East Region Assistant Coach of the Year.
