Newport, R.I.—Sophomore shortstop
Joey Meyer (South Milwaukee, Wis.) went 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI as Rhode Island College completed a sweep vs. Salve Regina with an 8-7 win in the nightcap of a non-conference twinbill played at Toppa Field on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC put four on the board in the top of the first, started by a Meyer sacrifice fly and highlighted by a sophomore first baseman
Jillian Guilfoyle (Derby, Conn.) two-run double.
• SRU quickly evened the game with a four-run bottom of the first.
• The Anchorwomen went up by four, 8-4, in the second, keyed by a two-run singles from Meyer and classmate third baseman
Gabrielle Sweeney (Shirley, Mass.).
• The Seahawks clawed back within a run, 8-7, with a three-run second, but senior pitcher
Gabby Cunha (Cranston, R.I.) hurled five innings of scoreless relief to pick up her third win (3-2).

Noelle Simmons (Goffstown, N.H.) and junior left fielder
Melanie Earley (Lumberton, N.J.) each went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
