HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen defense held strong against 12 first period shots from the Cougars with only one of those finding the back of the net.

Brie Macaruso (Ashaway, R.I.) slotted a goal home, but the hosts scored six in the frame to go ahead, 7-2, at the break.

• Despite causing 10 turnovers in the third quarter, the Anchorwomen still struggled finding offensive momentum.
