RIC Finishes Day Two at 2026 Little East Championship

Wellesley, Mass.--Senior Morgan McCann (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished 11th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:16.85) as Rhode Island College completed the second day of competition at the 2026 Little East Women's Swimming and Diving Championship, held at the Boston Sports Institute on Saturday.
 
THE BASICS
• Rhode Island College wrapped up the second day of competition in 11th place (11 teams) with a team score of 69.5. Eastern Connecticut is currently in first place with a team score of 605.5.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• McCann also placed 11th in the 200-yard medley relay (2:11.35).
 
• Freshman Victoria Badger (Cranston, R.I.) finished 11th in the 200-yard medley relay (2:11.35) and 17th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:16.22).
 
• Junior Joanmarie Joly (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished 11th in the 200-yard medley relay (2:11.35) and 25th in the 200-yard freestyle (2:38.37).
 
• Sophomore Marina Pereira (Cumberland, R.I.) finished 11th in the 200-yard medley relay (2:11.35) and 22nd in the 50-yard butterfly (32.80).
 
• Sophomore Taryn Reed (Pascoag, R.I.) finished 11th in the 800-yard freestyle relay (9:51.33) and 20th in the 1,000-yard freestyle (13:30.82).
 
• Sophomore Meghan McCann (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished 11th in the 800-yard freestyle relay (9:51.33) and 14th in the 400-yard IM (5:45.72).
 
• Junior Mabel Huynh (North Providence, R.I.) finished 11th in the 800-yard freestyle relay (9:51.33) and 16th in the 400-yard IM (6:01.62).

• Junior Kate Clayman (Smithfield, R.I.) finished 11th in the 800-yard freestyle relay (9:51.33) and 24th in the 200-yard freestyle (2:36.37).

• Freshman Katelyn Rogers (Woonsocket, R.I.) finished 17th in the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:55.78).

• Junior Abigail Steinhilber (Warwick, R.I.) finished 19th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:19.48).

• Freshman Alana Sousa (Berkley, Mass.) finished 20th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:20.34).

• Freshman Madison Ventura (Warwick, R.I.) finished 23rd in the 1000-yard freestyle (14:42.58).

• Junior Ivy Par (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished 23rd in the 50-yard butterfly (33.91).

• Junior Elizabeth Shepard (Smithfield, R.I.) finished 26th in the 50-yard butterfly (41.72).

• Sophomore Lydia Paul (Lincoln, R.I.) finished 26th in the 200-yard freestyle (2:51.05).

• Senior Olivia Landry (Lincoln, R.I.) finished 27th in the 50-yard butterfly (43.94).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete in the third and final day of competition at the 2026 Little East Women's Swimming Championship, held at the Boston Sports Institute (Wellesley, Mass.) on Feb. 15.
