Providence, R.I.—The Department of Athletics recognized the Rhode Island College faculty with its annual Most Valuable Professor event at halftime of the women's basketball game vs. Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday evening.

Each of RIC's 400 student-athletes were asked to pick the faculty member that has made a positive impact on their experience. Seventy-six faculty members were selected and nearly half were on hand to receive a commemorative certificate, flowers and a special chocolate bar during the ceremony.

Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Manyul Im and Director of Athletics Don Tencher presented the awards.
