HOW IT HAPPENED
• Williams tied the first set for the Anchorwomen, 21-21, as RIC went on a 4-2 streak to close out and win the opening frame, 25-23, thanks to a pair of attack errors from FSU.
Â
• It was not much of a contest in the second stanza as the Rams dealt the Anchorwomen a 25-12 setback as both teams had a set in hand heading into the third.
Â
• Senior setter
Grace Luchka (North Scituate, R.I.) ripped off four service aces in the third to help RIC win, 25-20, and go up two sets to one.
Â
• The Rams again would tie the match up with a 25-17 win in the fourth, but it was all Anchorwomen in the final frame as freshman middle hitter
Aliyah Evora (East Providence, R.I.) posted two huge kills down the stretch, which helped RIC win, 15-8.
Â
• Luchka and fellow classmate
Sarina Marines (Cranston, R.I.) each finished with double-doubles on the day and junior defensive specialist
Caroline Morrell (Gorham, Maine) registered a team-high 15 digs.
