Monahan and Wager Help Anchorwomen Roll Past Plymouth State, 76-31

Providence, R.I.--Junior guard Abby Wager (Mansfield, Mass.) registered 21 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists as Rhode Island College defeated Plymouth State, 76-31, at The Murray Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Wager and freshman forward Eva Monahan (Woodstock, Conn) combined for 10 points in the first quarter to give the Anchorwomen a 12-point lead, 20-8, heading into the second quarter.
 
• Monahan then quickly put in a pair of baskets to start the second frame, which led to another successful 10 minutes of basketball as RIC led by 11, 31-20, at the half.
 
• The Anchorwomen were all gas with no brakes in the third stanza as the hosts grew their lead to 25, 53-28, with 10 minutes to play.
 
• RIC closed out the fourth quarter with no remorse to win by 45 and extend their win streak to three consecutive games.

• Monahan also recorded a double-double of 18 points and 11 boards, while sophomore guard Shalyn Smith (Woodstock, Conn.) pitched in with 10 points offensively.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East play at UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday, Jan. 28 (5:30 p.m.).
