HOW IT HAPPENED
• A plethora of scoring from the Anchorwomen early on put the visitors ahead, 16-11, as the first quarter came to a close.
Â
• However, an eight-point, 19-11, lead in the second frame quickly dissipated as the Camels went on their own, 17-8, run to end the first half to lead RIC by one, 28-27.
Â
• Junior guard
Meagan Schuermann (Cooperstown, N.Y.) tied the game up at 35 apiece with four minutes to play in the third stanza, but neither team gained any traction as the game remained square, 41-41, with just the fourth quarter to go.
Â
• The Anchorwomen opened the last 10 minutes on a 10-4 spurt and led, 51-45, with four minutes to play. However, turnovers and missed jumpers down the stretch hurt the visitors as the Camels went on to secure the comeback win.
• Schuermann finished with 13 points, while sophomore guard
Jaina Yekelchik (North Scituate, R.I.) contributed nine points and four rebounds.
