HOW IT HAPPENED
• Despite the first three points going in favor of Mitchell, RIC was able to force a timeout from the visitors as the hosts' lead soared to five, 15-10.

• A pair of great serves by junior setter
Yuleisy Alvelo (San Juan, Puerto Rico), with one resulting in an ace, would close out the first period, 25-17.

• The Anchorwomen trailed, 13-11, midway through the second stanza until an attack error and a service ace by sophomore defensive specialist
Caroline Morrell (Gorham, Maine) gave RIC the momentum it needed to close out the period with another win, 25-20.

Marina Colonis (Waterford, Conn.) helped RIC cruise in the final stanza as she rattled off four aces in a stretch of five points for the Anchorwomen. The hosts would go on to win, 25-13, and notch their third consecutive sweep.

• Junior defensive specialist
Carolyn Bailey (Ipswich, Mass.) led the way defensively with 14 digs while Colonis pitched in with 12 returns.

• Alvelo tallied a match-high 15 assists to help pace the offense.
