Warwick, R.I.--Senior Jasper Bruins Slot (Scituate, R.I.) earned medalist honors with a first place finish as the Rhode Island College men's golf team finished first (five teams) at the RIC Fall Invitational played at Valley Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• RIC finished first (five teams) with a team score of 298. Emmanuel (306), Keene State (307), Nichols (317) and RIC's B team (325) rounded out the field.
 
• 25 golfers competed at the invitational, which was a par-72 and measured 6,508 yards.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bruins Slot finished first with a 71 (-1). It is the second consecutive first place finish this year for him.
 
• Junior Mike Decesare (Cranston, R.I.) tied for third with a 74 (+2).
 
• Senior Kyle Cullen (Glocester, R.I.) tied for seventh with a 76 (+4).
 
• Freshman Zach Taraian (Seekonk, Mass.) tied for ninth with a 77 (+5).
 
• Freshman Ryan Gervais (North Providence, R.I.) tied for 13^th with a 79 (+7).
 
• Freshman Brody Corcoran (Warwick, R.I.) tied for 15^th with an 80 (+8).
 
• Freshman Brady Pongvongkeo (North Providence, R.I.) tied for 17^th with an 81 (+9).
 
• Junior Max Nasser (Middletown, R.I.) placed 19^th with an 82 (+10).
 
• Freshman Ben Spirito (Cranston, R.I.) finished 20^th with an 84 (+12).

• Sophomore Ryan Farrell (Warren, R.I.) finished 25^th with an 87 (+15).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host its second Fall Invitational at Valley Country Club on Thursday, Sept. 25 (10 a.m.).
