Danbury, Conn.--Rhode Island College downed Western Connecticut, 8-1, in Little East men's tennis action to claim at least a share of the 2025 Little East Regular Championship on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The win marked the first-ever Little East Regular Season Championship for the program and secured the No. 1 seed and homecourt advantage throughout the upcoming LEC Championship, which starts on April 29.
 
• RIC can claim the outright title with a win over Southern Maine on Friday afternoon.
 
• The Anchormen took two of three in doubles, paced by freshman Ethan Clegg (Chepachet, R.I.) and senior Elijah Gouin's (Glocester, R.I.), 8-0, shutout win at No. 2 doubles, to build a 2-1 lead.
 
• RIC swept all six singles contests with freshman Kyle Neuendorf (Attleboro, Mass.) clinching the win with a straight set (6-4, 6-3) victory at No. 5 singles.
 
• Gouin was dominant at No. 3 singles with a (6-0, 6-2) win.
