Providence, R.I.--Junior Jasper Bruins Slot (Scituate, R.I.) finished first overall and earned medalist honors for the first time this spring as Rhode Island College finished first (four teams) at the Emmanuel Spring Classic played at the Robert T. Lynch Municipal Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• The course was a par-70 and measured 6,286 yards.
 
• The Anchormen finished first (four teams) with a combined score of 308 (+28). Emmanuel (310), Dean (362) and Elms (370) rounded out the field.
 
• 19 golfers competed at the event.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bruins Slot won the Spring Classic with a 69 (-1).
 
• Senior Cameron Mello (Somerset, Mass.) finished in a tie for fifth with a 79 (+9).
 
• Freshman Ryan Farrell (Warren, R.I.) finished in a tie for fifth with a 79 (+9).
 
• Junior Kyle Cullen (Glocester, R.I.) finished eighth with an 81 (+11).

• Sophomore Max Nasser (Middletown, R.I.) finished 14^th with a 90 (+20).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host its Spring Invitational at Valley Country Club on Friday and Saturday, April 18-19.
