HOW IT HAPPENED
• Young got the scoring started for the game in the bottom of the second, doubling to right field to give RIC a 1-0 advantage.
• Ohio Northern got one run back in the next half inning off a RIC wild pitch.
• The Polar Bears capitalized with runners on base in the top of the fifth, as a double scored two runners and a bunt scored another.
• Junior center fielder
Sophia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.) brought the Anchorwomen deficit back to one with an infield single to plate Young.
• A sacrifice bunt and a single would be the difference makers as Ohio Northern scored two in the seventh. Crudale knocked in the Anchorwomen's last run with an RBI ground out in the seventh.
• Sophomore pitcher
Ashleigh von der Linden (Stratham, N.H.) was dealt the loss (1-1), hurling six innings and striking out eight.
• Crudale went 1-for-4 with two RBI.
