HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE
• The Anchorwomen immediately put a runner on with a single in the first inning, which junior second baseman Noelle Simmons (Goffstown, N.H.) drove in for what ended up being the team's only run.

• A leadoff double by Wheaton and an RBI-ground out tied the game in the bottom of the first.

• The pitching and defense from both teams was solid for the next six innings until the bottom of the seventh where the Lyons walked off with a single to secure the win.

• Senior pitcher Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) picked up the loss (4-2), striking out four in a complete game effort.

GAME TWO
• The Lyons were the first to strike in the second contest as they opened the scoring on a wild pitch in bottom of the second.

• A solo homer in the third made it, 2-0, until Duclos registered an RBI-single to left field in the fourth, which cut the deficit to one.

• The hosts tacked on four runs in the fifth and sixth frames to increase their lead, 6-1, but the Anchorwomen made a late push in the final inning by scoring three runs, thanks to a sacrifice fly and a two-run single by junior center fielder Sophia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.).

• Sophomore pitcher Ashleigh von der Linden (Stratham, N.H.) was handed the loss (4-2), throwing for 5.2 innings racking up five K's.
