Amanda Conti (Lincoln, R.I.) went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored as Rhode Island College took down Johnson and Wales, 9-1 (5 innings), in game two of a doubleheader played at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Wildcats were the first to pounce on the lead in the first frame with a single to left field that brought the lead-off runner to the plate.

• After a scoreless first from the Anchorwomen, freshman first baseman
Jillian Guilfoyle (Derby, Conn.) singled to center. which drove in a pair of runs as RIC took control, 2-1, after two innings.

• The hosts dominated the bottom of the fourth inning as a Wildcat error, which would have been the third out, led the hosts to eventually score six runs.

• A Guilfoyle sacrifice fly in the fifth ended the game via the eight-run rule.
• Sophomore pitcher
Ashleigh von der Linden (Stratham, N.H.) recorded the win (4-1), throwing three scoreless innings of relief.
