Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.) registered 23 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals as Rhode Island College defeated Eastern Connecticut, 64-58, in Little East action played at Geissler Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen and the Warriors both battled to gain control of the first quarter, but it was RIC who grabbed the lead after 10 minutes, 13-11.

• Eastern Connecticut stuck with the visitors throughout the second frame, however, the Anchorwomen would go into the locker room with a four-point, 28-24, lead.

• The Warriors dug deep in the third, going on a 11-2 run and grabbing the lead, 39-37, with 2:43 remaining in the frame.

• RIC would then close out the stanza on an 8-2 run and headed into the final 10 minutes once again up by four, 45-41.

• The Anchorwomen held off the by holding a lead of at least two possessions throughout the fourth frame.

• Sophomore guard
Meagan Schuermann (Cooperstown, N.Y.) recorded a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds to pace RIC.
