Owls Hand Anchorwomen First Little East Setback of the Season

Providence, R.I.--Freshman goalkeeper Oceanna Orlandi (East Greenwich, R.I.) made five saves as Rhode Island College suffered its first Little East setback of the season in a 2-0 loss vs. Keene State, 2-0, at Alumni Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Orlandi was tested within the first two minutes of the game as she had to make a diving save as the visitors came out firing offensively.
 
• The Owls won a corner kick and would score on a second-effort cross in the ninth minute to go ahead, 1-0.
 
• Senior forward Tayshia Cary (Wakefield, R.I.) had the Anchorwomen's only shot on target of the first half, which came in the 20th minute, but was denied by KSC.
 
• The Owls extended their lead to a pair of goals in the 36th minute as the visitors capitalized on a counter attack off of a RIC free kick.
 
• Sophomore forward Hannah Rezendes (Bristol, R.I.) came up with a chance for the Anchorwomen in the 58th minute, but her long range attempt was stopped.
 
• The Owls held a 19-7 advantage in shots as RIC's six-game win streak came to an end.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Wesleyan on Tuesday, Oct. 14 (7:15 p.m.).
