HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen picked up right where they left off in 2024 and raced out to a hot start in the first quarter to lead, 16-10, after 10 minutes.
• Trinity would see its first lead of the game come in the second frame, 23-21, but RIC would quickly regain the advantage and finish the first half ahead by six, 38-32.
• The Bantams would then apply pressure and find a groove in the third quarter, outscoring the Anchorwomen, 18-10, and would head into the last 10 minutes on top by a pair, 50-48.
• Bing knocked down a three with seven minutes left and freshman guard
Shalyn Smith (Middletown, Conn.) cashed in a long trey with four minutes remaining to give the hosts a comfortable lead.
• After cutting the RIC lead down to two points, 66-64, in the final seconds, the Bantams turned the ball over by failing to hit the rim on a free throw. Medbury was fouled and sank a free throw and Trinity's half-court heave was off the mark at the buzzer.
• Senior forward
Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.) pitched in with 10 points and nine rebounds.
