Amanda Conti (Lincoln, R.I.) went 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI as No. 4 Rhode Island College eliminated No. 6 VTSU Castleton, 3-2, in game three of the 2024 Little East Softball Championship, hosted by UMass Boston on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Anchorwomen put two across in the bottom of the first as sophomore second baseman
Noelle Simmons (Goffstown, N.H.) tripled in a run and later scored on a wild pitch.
• The Spartans scored in the third, but Conti knocked in what proved to be the decisive run with an RBI single in the fifth.
• VTSU Castleton pulled within a run, 3-2, in the sixth, but junior pitcher
Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) slammed the door in the seventh.
• Kidd hurled a complete game, striking out seven, to earn her 17
th win (17-5).

Avery Katz (Brookfield, Conn.) went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a double. Senior first baseman
Katelyn Ashe (Colchester, Conn.) went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a double.
