Sean Helfrich (Saunderstown, R.I.) went 1-for-3 as Rhode Island College mustered just two hits in an 8-0 loss in the first game of a doubleheader vs. Otterbein at the Gene Cusic Classic on Saturday afternoon.

• The Cardinals got on the board in the top of the first with a pair of RBI singles to take a 2-0 lead. They would go on to score in all but two innings in the win.
• Freshman second basemen
Parker Camelo (Bristol, R.I.) was the only other Anchorman to record a hit on the day with a 1-for-3 effort.
• Junior starting pitcher
Ryan Seaver (Norton, Mass.) pitched 3.1 innings and took the loss (0-1).
• Cardinals' graduate starting pitcher
Kyler Archual (Columbus, Ohio) threw all seven innings, striking out eight batters, as he earned his third win (3-0) on the season.
