Ashe Powers Anchorwomen to 10th Straight Win

Bristol, R.I.—Senior first basemen Katelyn Ashe (Colchester, Conn.) went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run as the Rhode Island College took game two of a doubleheader, 5-2, at Roger Williams on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior center fielder Avery Katz (Brookfield, Conn.) and freshman left fielder Melanie Earley (Lumberton, N.J.) joined Ashe as the only Anchorwomen to have two or more base hits in the game.
 
• Ashe's three-run shot broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the fifth inning.
 
• Junior starting pitcher Taylor Babcock (East Providence, R.I.) earned the win (5-0) after throwing six innings and striking out four.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will open Little East play at home vs. Western Connecticut on Saturday, March 30 (1 p.m.).
