Claire Greene Scores and Notches an Assist in, 17-5, Setback at Lasell

Newton, Mass.--Sophomore attacker Claire Greene (Storrs, Conn.) recorded a goal and an assist, while registering three ground balls and three draw controls, as Rhode Island College women's lost at Lasell, 17-5, on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Lasers would score the first eight goals in the first quarter before junior midfielder Hannah Marley (Tiverton, R.I.) put the visitors on the board with 6:09 remaining in the opening frame.
 
• Lasell would continue to pour on the offense and take a 13-2 lead into halftime. The Lasers would score four more in the second half to secure the 17-5 win.
 
• Senior attacker Emily Marino (Cheshire, Conn.), junior defender Maggie Schwab (Saunderstown, R.I.) and freshman attacker Livia Sweeney (North Kingstown, R.I.) each scored for the Anchorwomen.
 
• Lasell senior attacker Teresa Kessner (Brentwood, N.Y.) finished with a game-high six goals and two assists for eight points on the day.
 
• Lasers' sophomore goalkeeper Joy Sayah (Rockland, Mass.) recorded 12 saves in the winning effort (4-1).
 
• Marino led RIC with five ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers.
 
• RIC freshman goalkeeper Giana Franco (Salem, Conn.) made 13 saves in the loss (0-4).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Fitchburg State on Saturday, March 23 (1 p.m.).
