Tengbeh Scores 15 in, 60-48, Setback vs. WestConn

Providence, R.I.--Junior guard Deyshawn Tengbeh (East Providence, R.I.) scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team fell vs. Western Connecticut, 60-48, in Little East action played at The Murray Center on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Both offenses struggled early, with both teams shooting a combined 7-for-26 over the first 10 minutes of the contest, as WestConn would hold a 13-8 lead.
 
• A three-point shot by freshman guard Mike Paquette (Cranston, R.I.) would give the Anchormen a 20-18 lead with 3:03 remaining in the first half.
 
• RIC would go into halftime with a 29-25 lead.
 
• WestConn would go on a 10-2 run to start the second half to take a 35-31 advantage with 14:21 left to go in the game.
 
• Back-to-back three-pointers from Tengbeh and sophomore guard Isaiah Dahl (Cornelius, Ore.) would allow RIC to recapture a 44-43 lead with 8:20 left.
 
• The host's offense sputtered out over the latter stage of the game, as the Anchormen would be held scoreless over the final 5:57. The Wolves capitalized on their free throws late to clinch the win.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East action at home vs. Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday, Feb. 14 (7:30 p.m.).
