Anchormen's Run in LEC Championship Ends in, 83-68, Loss at No. 11 Keene State in Semifinals

Keene, N.H.--Junior guard Deyshawn Tengbeh (East Providence, R.I.) scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team saw their season come to an end in an 83-68 loss at No. 11 Keene State in the semifinals of the 2024 Little East Championship at Spaulding Gymnasium on Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• A couple of three-pointers by freshman guard Mike Paquette (Cranston, R.I.) helped lead the fifth-seeded Anchormen to an early, 19-11, lead with 12:20 left in the first half.
 
• The top-seeded Owls would embark on a 20-5 run over an 8:07 time span to rack up a 41-32 lead at halftime.
 
• A three-point shot from KSC junior guard Octavio Brito (Lincoln, R.I.) gave the Owls a 17-point lead, 57-40, with 12:45 remaining in the contest.
 
• The Anchormen would try their best to close the gap, climbing within 11 points, 74-63, with 2:24 left tin the game, but would get no closer as the Owls advanced to the tourney finals.
 
• Senior forward Ousmane Kourouma (Woonsocket, R.I.) scored 10 points and secured 19 rebounds for his 19th double-double of the season.
 
• Sophomore guard Isaiah Dahl (Cornelius, Ore.) with finished 11 points.
