Anchormen Open Conference Play With, 90-83, Overtime Win at UMass Boston

Boston, Mass.—Fifth-year forward Ousmane Kourouma (Woonsocket, R.I.) scored 26 points and secured a season-high 19 rebounds as Rhode Island College won vs. UMass Boston, 90-83, in overtime at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Both schools took turns with the lead in the opening 20 minutes, however, the Beacons finished the half on top by four, 28-24.
 
• The Anchormen built up a 14-point, 62-48, lead with 7:36 left to go in the game when classmate guard Dwayne Robinson-O'Hagan (Woonsocket, R.I.) converted a layup.
 
• The Beacons were not out of the game yet as the hosts ripped off a 15-3 run with less than six minutes to go and tied the game at 72 apiece on a clutch free throw, which would send the game to overtime.
 
• Kourouma would then score eight points in overtime to defeat the hosts and Robinson-O'Hagan pitched in six of his own in the extra period.
 
• Robinson-O'Hagan also contributed 26 points and dished out five assists in the win.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East play at VTSU Castleton on Saturday, Dec. 7 (3 p.m.).
