Providence, R.I.—Senior guard
Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.) nearly recorded a triple double with 15 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists as Rhode Island College defeated Springfield, 58-52, for the club's first win of the season at the Blake Arena on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After trailing, 10-5, early on, RIC rattled off an 11-2 run to close out the first quarter with a four-point lead, 16-12.
• The Anchorwomen held an eight-point lead on two separate occasions in the second quarter and were able lead at the break by four, 28-24, thanks to 13 first-half points and seven rebounds from senior forward
Angelina Nardolillo (Hinsdale, N.H.).
• An eight-point third quarter by freshman guard
Naima Bleou (Worcester, Mass.) put the Anchorwomen up three, 39-36, with 12 minutes to go.
• In the fourth, the Anchorwomen were able to claw out to a seven-point, 54-47, lead as junior forward
Claire Greene (Storrs, Conn.) knocked down a jumper.
• The Pride were unable to mount a comeback thanks to late free throws by RIC.
• Sophomore guard
Meagan Schuermann (Cooperstown, N.Y.) netted 10 points and corralled five boards in the win.
• Bleou dropped a career-high 11 points and shot 50 percent from long range.
• Nardolillo needs four points for 1,000 in her career.
