Boston, Mass.--Senior forward Tayla Salome (Lincoln, R.I.) scored in the 28th minute as Rhode Island College fell, 2-1, at UMass Boston in Little East women's soccer action played at James Cotter Field on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Beacons quickly took a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 13th minute.
 
• Salome knotted the game at one apiece with her team-leading fourth goal of the season just over 13 minutes later. Sophomore back Karol Matamoros (Cranston, R.I.) and freshman midfielder Hannah Rezendes (Bristol, R.I.) set up the marker.
 
• UMass Boston scored what proved to be the game-winner with just 52 seconds left in the first half and shut out the visitors over the final 45 minutes.
 
• Senior goalkeeper Chloe Angelone (Bayville, N.Y.) made two saves in the loss (4-5-1).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Gordon on Wednesday, Oct. 9 (4 p.m.).
