RIC Clips Blue Jays, 5-2, on Senior Day

Providence, R.I.—Fifth-year Amiah Sommer (Cumberland, R.I.) and senior Amara Devine (Greenville, R.I.) paired for a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles and each won in straight sets in singles action as Rhode Island College defeated the University of Saint Joseph, 5-2, on Senior Day at the RIC Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sommer, Devine and fifth-year Lauren Macera (Cranston, R.I.) were recognized following the match as part of Senior Day.
 
• RIC took the doubles point as freshmen Haylie Peacock (West Gardiner, Maine) and Emilia Houwers (Whitewater, Wisc.) won, 6-4, at the No. 2 spot along with Sommer's and Devine's win at third doubles.
 
• De Thomas clinched the win with a straight set (6-2, 6-1) victory at No. 3 singles.
