Haylie Peacock (West Gardiner, Maine) won in straight sets at No. 4 singles as Rhode Island College lost a closely-contested match, 5-4, vs. UMass Boston indoors at the Weymouth Club on Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Both clubs were undefeated in Little East play coming into the contest and four of the nine matches required tiebreakers.
• The Beacons built a 3-0 lead by winning all three doubles matches, with UMB barely edging the Anchorwomen at the No. 1 and No. 2 flights.
• UMB took first singles before Peacock notched a win (6-1, 6-1) at No. 4 singles. The Beacons won at second singles to clinch the win, while RIC took the remaining singles bouts.
• Freshman
Arianna De Thomas (Providence, R.I.) needed a tiebreaker to win at third singles and equal Peacock on the season with identical undefeated, 14-0, records.
