• However, the Cardinals broke through off a header goal from freshman Meredith Feiner (Chappaqua, N.Y.) in the 38th minute.

• Near the end of the first half, junior defender Karen Johnson-Hoffman (Groton, Conn.) made a goal-line stop with the net vacant to keep the game a two-goal, 2-0, deficit for the hosts.

• Sophomore midfielder Madison Mello's (Tiverton, R.I.) shot in the 81st minute was the only Anchorwoman shot in the loss.

• Nunes suffered her first loss of the season (2-1).

• The Cardinals notched their 10th shutout win of the season.
