New London, N.H.--Junior Amara Devine (Greenville, R.I.) took third at No. 5 singles as the Rhode Island College women's tennis team participated in the Colby-Sawyer Women's Tennis Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
 
THE BASICS
• It was a flight invitational with no team scoring.
 
• In addition to Rhode Island College and Colby-Sawyer, Nichols and Gordon also participated.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Devine went 1-1 at fifth singles to finish third and also paired with senior Amiah Sommer (Cumberland, R.I.) to go 1-1 and place third at No. 2 doubles.
 
• Senior Anna Vygoder (Lincoln, R.I.) and sophomore Li hsiu Hou (Kingston, R.I.) went 1-1 to finish third at No. 3 doubles.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will open Little East play at Bridgewater State on Saturday, Sept. 9 (1 p.m.).
