Jonathan Oliveira (Providence, R.I.) converted a penalty kick in the 78
th minute to record his sixth goal of the season as the Rhode Island College men's soccer team tied Wheaton, 1-1, at Alumni Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Lyons dominated play right out of the gate, outshooting RIC, 6-0, in the first 12 minutes.

• The Lyons believed they had broken through in the 16
th minute, but the goal was called back due to an offsides call.
Â
• The Anchormen did not record a shot until the 17
th minute, when an attempt by Oliveira was easily saved by Wheaton sophomore goalkeeper

• The Lyons went up, 1-0, in the 28
th minute as freshman midfielder
Ben Kane (Pembroke, Mass.) took a shot that went into the lower left part of the net.

• The Lyons held the lead in shots, 10-2, in the first half.

• Lyons still controlled play in second half, but RIC junior goalkeeper
Jake Reed (Cumberland, R.I.) held strong and turned away four Lyon offerings over the final 45 minutes.

Anthony Recinos (Providence, R.I.) was taken down in the box in the 78
th minute, resulting in a RIC penalty kick. Oliveira stayed perfect by netting the equalizer. He is now 3-for-3 on penalty kick attempts on the season.

• Both teams started to lock down defensively afterwards and only took one shot apiece for the remainder of the game.

• O'Gara made two saves in the contest (0-1-3).

• Reed made six saves in the draw (2-0-1).
