Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) tossed a complete game shutout as No. 5 Rhode Island College kept its season alive with a 3-0 win over No. 6 UMass Boston in game three of the 2023 Little East Softball Championship, hosted by Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC scored twice in the first inning as freshman second baseman
Noelle Simmons (Manchester, N.H.) notched an RBI single. Later in the frame, senior catcher
Alexis Boyce (Wolcott, Conn.) produced a run on a ground out.

• Simmons added the third run with a double in the third inning.

• Kidd was lights out, going the distance for her 12
th win of the season (12-8) and striking out seven. Coupled with her start in a game one, 2-0, setback vs. No. 5 Castleton, she hurled 13 innings on the day.
