RIC Takes Game Two at Keene State, 8-1

Keene, N.H.—Sophomore right fielder Sarah Mickelson (New Milford, Conn.) went 2-for-3 and scored a run, while freshman pitcher Gabby Cunha (Cranston, R.I.) secured the win, as Rhode Island College completed a sweep at Keene State with an 8-1 victory in game two of a doubleheader played at the Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• As they did in the opening game, RIC plated a run in the first inning. The Anchorwomen scored three times in the third inning, highlighted by a junior third baseman Victoria Young (Sterling, Conn.) RBI triple.
 
• The visitors put the game away in the fourth with a four-run effort. Mickelson knocked in one with a single and freshman left fielder Sophia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.) doubled in a run.
 
• Cunha hurled a complete game, allowing six hits and striking out six, to pick up her second win (2-3).
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will close out the regular season with a Little East doubleheader at UMass Boston on Saturday, May 6 (1 p.m.).
