Katelyn Ashe (Colchester, Conn.) went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a pair of RBI as Rhode Island College fell, 5-3, in eight innings vs. Eastern Connecticut in Little East action played at the Dayna A. Bazar Softball Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC trailed, 3-0, heading into the bottom of the fifth. Ashe pulled the hosts within one, 3-2, with a two-run single to center field.
• Ashe walked in the seventh and scored the tying run on senior catcher
Alexis Boyce's (Wolcott, Conn.) double to right field to force extra innings.
• A pair of RIC errors in the top of the eighth led to a pair of Warrior runs, which proved to be the difference.
• Sophomore pitcher
Abby Kidd (Granby, Conn.) took the loss (9-7), allowing just one earned run on six hits, while striking out four, in eight innings of work.
