Sophia Crudale (Cranston, R.I.) launched her first career home run as the Rhode Island College softball team took down Southern Maine, 6-2, to complete a Little East doubleheader sweep played at the Dayna A. Bazar softball complex on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Junior third baseman
Victoria Young (Sterling, Conn.) and junior center fielder
Avery Katz (Brookfield, Conn) drove in a combined three runs in the second inning to build a 3-0 lead over the Huskies.

• Both squads scored a run in the third, making the game, 4-1, in RIC's favor.

• Southern Maine got a run back in the top of the sixth, but RIC answered with a blast by Crudale and an RBI ground out by freshman second baseman

• Young added two RBI to her stellar performance from game one, which was also a 6-2 victory.
