HOW IT HAPPENED
• Mother Nature pushed back the start time of the game, as the Anchormen had to tarp the field right before first pitch and wait out the rain for an hour and 15 minutes.

• The Bears were able to walk the bases loaded in the second inning, scoring the first run of the game on a base on balls. RIC senior starting pitcher Connor Davey (Cheshire, Conn.) was able to get out of the jam with a well-timed ground ball that resulted in an inning-ending double play.

• The Bears went up 3-0 after back-to-back extra base hits by freshman third baseman Riley Thornell (Wareham, Mass.) and senior first baseman Joey Molis (Cumberland, R.I.) in the top of the third.

• The Anchormen responded with a sacrifice fly from junior third baseman Cal Parrillo (Greenville, R.I.) to score Santerre and cut the Bears' lead down to two, 3-1, in the home half of the frame.

• Molis struck again for another double, plating two, which increased the Bears' lead to four runs, 5-1.

• A rally by the Anchormen resulted in a three-run bottom of the fifth inning to pull within a run, 5-4.

• Due to darkness, the game would be decided in the sixth inning. BSU sophomore center fielder DJ Prampin (Worcester, Mass.) belted a ball high into the night sky, giving the visitors a much-needed insurance run, which proved to be the game-winner.

• Parrillo singled in Santerre again in the sixth, again putting the hosts in striking distance. With the bases loaded and no one out, the Bears were able to get a double play ball that cut down the potential tying runner at home. Senior reliever Tyler Dasilva-Medeiros (Taunton, Mass.) then notched a strikeout to earn the save.
