Women's Basketball Takes Season Series from WestConn

Danbury, Conn.--Sophomore guard Madison Medbury (Scituate, R.I.) registered 14 points as the Rhode Island College women's basketball team defeated Western Connecticut, 70-47, in Little East action played at Feldman Arena on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC and WCSU had a tight first quarter, with the Anchorwomen leading by three, 17-14.
 
• Over the next two quarters, RIC outpaced the Wolves, 38-17, and headed into the final stanza up by over 20 points, 55-31.
 
• RIC maintained the cushion for the remainder of the contest and pushed its win streak to 18 games.
 
• Four Anchorwomen scored in double figures, led by senior forward Izabelle Booth's (Newport, R.I.) 19 points.
 
• Medbury finished with 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals.
 
• WCSU graduate forward Katelyn Fanning (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) registered 15 points and five rebounds in the loss.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East play at Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday, Feb. 8 (5 p.m.).
