RIC Picks Up Fifth Shutout in, 9-0, Win at University of Saint Joseph

West Hartford, Conn.--Sophomore Erica Botelho (Greenville, R.I.) registered a shutout (6-0, 6-0) at No. 1 singles as Rhode Island College won for the third time in four days with a 9-0 shutout at the University of Saint Joseph on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The visitors swept doubles action with Botelho and senior Anna Vygoder (Lincoln, R.I.) notching an 8-2 decision at the second pairing.
 
• Botelho made short work of her opponent at the top singles spot and junior Amara Devine (Greenville, R.I.) clinched the win for the club with a straight set (6-3, 6-1) decision at fourth singles.
 
• The Anchorwomen have won seven eight straight matches and have five shutouts on the season.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East action with a pivotal home contest vs. UMass Boston on Saturday, Oct. 7 (noon).
