Jonathan Oliveira (Providence, R.I.) scored his 12
th goal of the season as the Rhode Island College men's soccer team lost vs. Western Connecticut, 2-1, at Alumni Stadium on Saturday afternoon to close out the regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first 45 minutes were dominated by the Wolves, who outshot the hosts, 12-2. Neither team was able to gain the upper hand as RIC junior goalkeeper
Jake Reed (Cumberland, R.I.) recorded two saves in the half.

•WestConn scored first in the 53
rd minute when sophomore forward
Maximus Vigo (Canton, Mich.) took a shot that was saved by Reed, but the rebound went directly to graduate student midfielder
Eduardo Vargas (Norwalk, Conn.) who finished it off to put the Wolves ahead, 1-0.

• The visitors would score again in the 64
th minute as sophomore back
Filipe Dutra (Naugatuck, Conn.) took a free kick that deflected off a RIC defender and into the side corner of the goal for a 2-0 lead.

• Oliveira would score his 12
th goal of the season to give RIC life in the 72
nd minute as he tipped in a shot from freshman midfielder
Donovan Battle (Hudson, Mass.). Battle and sophomore midfielder
