Women's Soccer Falls at No. 7 Amherst

Amherst, Mass.--Junior goalkeeper Chloe Angelone (Bayville, N.Y.) started and made 11 saves, while freshman Nicole Nunes (Smithfield, R.I.) played the second half and stopped a career-high 13, as Rhode Island College fell, 8-0, at No. 7 Amherst on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The entire match was heavily favored towards the 11th-ranked Mammoths. The hosts got their scoring started in the 26th minute on a penalty kick tally by senior forward Abby Schwartz (Alpharetta, GA).
 
• Senior forward Ally Deegan (Milton, Mass.) made it a 2-0 advantage for Amherst in the 35th minute.
 
• Freshman midfielder Catherine McDonald (Atlanta, GA) and senior forward Liza Katz (New York, N.Y.) each scored two minutes apart in the closing stages of the first half to send AC into the halftime break with a 4-0 lead.
 
• Four more goals were scored by the Mammoths in the second half as Deegan, sophomore forward Halle Hanna (Mill Valley, Calif.), junior midfielder Fiona Bernet (Los Angeles, Calif.), and junior back Patience Kum (Takoradi, Ghana) all tallied.
 
• Freshman back Jaylin Fernandes (Pawtucket, R.I.) and sophomore back Jenna Soden (Leicester, Mass.) had shots for the Anchorwomen.
