Anchorwomen Fall at Salve Regina, 2-0

Newport, R.I.--Freshman goalkeeper Kelly Graziano (Johnston, R.I.) played 25 minutes of perfect relief as Rhode Island College fell at Salve Regina, 2-0, in women's soccer action played at Toppa field on Sunday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first goal was scored in the 35th minute when Salve freshman forward Hannah Daniweicz (Preston, Conn.) netted her first career goal.
 
• The hosts held a 12-7 shot advantage and a 1-0 lead in the first half.
 
• SRU sophomore midfielder Emily Rio (East Brookfield, Mass.) netted the Seahawks' second goal in the 53rd minute and kept the Anchorwomen off the scoreboard for the remainder of the contest.
 
• RIC senior goalkeeper Maya Benedict (Tempe, Ariz.) was saddled with the loss (0-2), making four saves in 65 minutes of play. Graziano finished the game and halted three shots of her own.
 
• SRU freshman goalkeeper Reagan Moffatt (Denville, N.J.) earned her first career win (1-0) with seven stops in a shutout effort.
 
• The Seahawks outpaced the Anchorwomen in the shots, 23-9, and shots on goal, 9-7.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Dean on Wednesday, Sept. 7 (4 p.m.).
