Brady Tupper (Pascoag, R.I.) each won their first collegiate matches as the Rhode Island College men's tennis team lost vs. Wentworth, 6-3, in the two club's season-opener at the RIC Tennis Complex on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Leopards jumped out to a 2-1 lead with two victories in pairs action.

• Fanning and Tupper teamed up at No. 3 doubles for an 8-3 win for their first collegiate doubles victories.

• In singles, sophomore
Zach Siemmao (Wakefield, R.I.) won at No. 4 singles (6-1, 6-2).

• Fanning then earned his first career singles win in a super tiebreaker. Fanning matched up with WIT senior
Owen Conlon (Cataumet, Mass.) at No. 5 singles. After Fanning won the first set (6-1), Conlon then came back and won the second set (7-6; 7-4). Fanning then won (10-1) to clinch the victory.
