Olivia Carpenito Scores Twice in, 15-3, Loss at Castleton

Castleton, Vt.--Senior midfielder Olivia Carpenito (Wilmington, Mass.) scored twice as Rhode Island College lost, 15-3, at Castleton in Little East women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The hosts tallied the contest's first seven goals to lead, 7-0, at the end of the first quarter.
 
• Carpenito scored twice, and junior midfielder Amara Gibau (North Providence, R.I.) notched a goal, as the Anchorwomen pulled within four, 7-3, with 9:43 left in the second stanza.
 
• The Spartans scored the next three and kept RIC off the scoreboard for the remainder of the contest.
 
• Junior goalkeeper Shannon O'Connell (Narragansett, R.I.) made 17 saves in a losing effort (0-7).
 
• Castleton senior goalkeeper Raven Payne (Cornwall, Vt.) stopped five in the win (2-11).
 
• Carpenito finished with nine ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers.
