Rhode Island College (11-6-1, 3-1 LEC)
Southern Maine (5-12, 2-2 LEC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE
• RIC led, 2-0, after four innings, with Parrillo picking up an RBI in the third inning and freshman catcher Lucas Pierce (Chepachet, R.I.) doubling home a run in the fourth.

• RIC would add a few insurance runs as sophomore pitcher Andrew Sears (West Warwick, R.I.) was dominant. He struck out a career-high 12 batters over eight innings and allowed just five Huskies to reach base as he picked up his fourth (4-1) win on the season.

• USM senior pitcher Joshua Joy (Smithfield, Maine) was saddled with the loss (1-3).

GAME TWO
• The script flipped on the Anchormen as it was the Huskies, who scored early and often, collected three runs in the fourth thanks to a hit, a hit batsman and a fielder's choice.

• In the fifth inning, junior left fielder Jonathan Wilson (East Granby, Conn.) singled home a run and then later scored after a double by junior designated hitter Arlo Pike (Buxton, Maine). USM led, 5-0, after the fifth inning.

• In the top of the ninth, senior third baseman Jarrad Grossguth (Coventry, R.I.) brought in the Anchormen's only two runs with a blast over the left field fence.

• USM sophomore pitcher Bryce Afthim (Windham, Maine) was excellent, going the complete nine innings and striking out 10 batters for his third win of the year (3-1).

• Sophomore pitcher Terry Murray (Norfolk, Mass.) earned the loss (2-2).

BY THE NUMBERS
• Parrillo was 4-for-9 with a pair of doubles.

• Grossguth went 2-for-7 with a homer and three RBI across both games.
