Joey Coro (North Providence, R.I.) hit a homer and drove in three runs as Rhode Island College clobbered WPI, 18-2 (seven innings) in RussMatt Invitational action at the Lake Myrtle Main Field on Sunday afternoon .

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC struck for three runs in the first, second and third innings. Freshman designated hitter
Lucas Pierce (Chepachet, R.I.) cleared the bases with a double in the first, while sophomore first baseman
Cal Parrillo (Greenville, R.I.) belted a three-run homer (1) in the second inning.
• WPI grabbed both of its runs in the bottom of the fourth inning with back-to-back bases-loaded walks.
• The Anchormen put up a seven spot in the top of the fifth inning. Coro hit a three-run homer (2)  and sophomore center fielder
Cameron Santerre (Bristol, R.I.) roped a two-run double later in the inning.
• Coro went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, three RBI and a homer.
• Parrillo had two hits in five at-bats, three RBI, a double and a home run.
• Five different Anchormen had multiple RBI and multiple hits, while six different student-athletes scored two or more runs.
• WPI senior shortstop
Martin McCormack (Quincy, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.
• RIC freshman pitcher
Harrison Mansfield (Uxbridge, Mass.) earned his first career win (1-0), going four innings and striking out four batters.
• WPI sophomore pitcher
Owen Radcliffe (Holliston, Mass.) suffered the loss (0-1).
